Cancer Monthly - launched
January 1, 2005
www.cancermonthly.com
Cancer Monthly was created by
parents who had lost their children to cancer and realized that better
information was needed to make more informed treatment decisions. Today, Cancer
Monthly is the only centralized source of cancer treatment results in the
world. Patients can see the actual clinical results of hundreds of different
cancer treatments used in over 20 countries - how long did other patients
survive, what was their quality of life, where is the treatment available.
Treatments reviewed include: surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy,
biological therapy, immunotherapy, and gene therapy. Cancers include advanced
or metastatic brain, breast, colon, kidney (renal), liver, lung, melanoma,
mesothelioma, ovarian, prostate, and rectal. With a click, patients can also
contact a doctor responsible for the treatment and print out a medical summary
about the therapy for their own physicians. All the data comes from the peer
reviewed medical and scientific literature. This information helps patients
make treatment decisions based on facts. It has been used by nearly a million
patients and clinicians from around the world since its launch on January 1,
2005.
My Cancer Place -

MySpace, it allows cancer patients and their loved ones to connect and network
with other, share personal stories and emotional support, discuss treatment
information and resources, listen to teleconferences, find out about cancer
events, participate in groups and forums, and create personal web pages with
text and pictures that can be updated and changed easily.
Surviving Mesothelioma -
published October 2005
www.survivingmesothelioma.com
"Surviving Mesothelioma and
Other Cancers: A Patient's Guide" is the first book published by Cancer
Monthly. It was written by Paul Kraus who was diagnosed in June 1997 with
terminal mesothelioma, an aggressive type of cancer, and sent home to die.
Instead of giving up, he created his own path to healing and continues to enjoy
a good quality of life. Because this is an inspirational story for patients
suffering from mesothelioma and other cancers, Cancer Monthly sponsors
teleconferences so that patients can listen to Mr. Kraus. During these calls,
Mr. Kraus provides further details about the choices he made, the treatments he
used, and answers questions from patients and family members. All participants
are inspired by this remarkable man and story.
CancerWire - published
every month
www.cancermonthly.com/cancerwire.asp
CancerWire is Cancer Monthly's
free monthly e-newsletter that presents original interviews and news stories
about important cancer topics. The focus is on integrative therapies, health
freedom, and other subjects that directly impact a patient's ability to make
informed treatment decisions.
Health Search Plus -
launched November 13, 2006
www.healthsearchplus.com
Health Search Plus is Cancer
Monthly's web search tool that allows cancer patients and others to perform more
comprehensive and quicker health searches. The tool allows users to
simultaneously search 30 key databases, including: the National Institute of
Health website, FDA, Centers for Disease Control, Pubmed, Clinical Trials
Database, Medical Dictionary, Books, People, Blogs, News, Videos, Audio
Recordings, Google and Yahoo. This helps users quickly retrieve the most
comprehensive health information from some of the more trustworthy sources on
the web. It saves time because the tool searches all of these databases
